The University Indiana - Purdue University Indianapolis is organising a Computer Science Day for high school students on March 16th, 2012. Kris Van Hees has been invited to make the keynote presentation. He will be discussing his doctoral research and his "journey" in Computer Science, both as a professional in the industry and as an academic.

The 1st International AEGIS Conference will be held in Seville (Spain), October 7-8, 2010. A paper titled "Parallel User Interface Rendering: Accessibility for Custom Widgets" by Kris Van Hees has been accepted for presentation. Christophe Strobbe will be presenting the paper on October 7th, in lieu of the author. A poster about the paper will also be on display at the conference.

The 12th International Conference on Computers Helping People with Special Needs is being held at the Vienna University of Technology in Vienna (Austria), July 14th-16th (pre-conference July 12th-13th). A presentation titled "PUIR: Parallel User Interface Rendering" was presented by Kris Van Hees on Wednesday July 14th. The DocArch group presented 6 other papers at this conference as well.

The 10th International Conference on Computers Helping People with Special Needs was held at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz (Austria), July 12th-14th. A presentation titled "Non-visual access to GUIs: leveraging abstract user interfaces" was presented by Kris Van Hees on Thursday July 13th.

The 8th European Conference for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe was held at the Henri Warembourg Faculty of Medicine in Lille (France), September 6-9th. A presentation titled "Abstracting the Graphical User Interface for Non-Visual Access" was presented by Prof. Jan Engelen on Wednesday September 13th.
